With the budget being signed this week, Medi-Cal will be processing all held claims over the weekend. This applies to all providers, institutional and non-institutional.

The processing and issuing of payment for next week will be expedited. On a typical week, the checks are mailed on Thursday and EFT is posted on the following Monday. This week a special process is being put in place due to the large amount of payments that have been delayed. Next week, checks will be mailed on Tuesday, August 28th, (2 days early) and EFT will be posted on Wednesday, August 29th, (4 days early). This special process is being implemented due to the extraordinary circumstances of the delayed budget and is imperative to expedite payment of claims.

The Department of Health Care Services regrets any inconvenience providers experienced by this delay and appreciates the services providers continue to render.
